Dr Syed grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and completed his high school education at St Edward HS. He then attended Case Western Reserve University where he completed a major in Chemistry earning Dean's List honors. He completed his medical school at Kasturba Medical College/ IUHS during which time as a medical student he completed an Acting Internship at Case Western Reserve University Internal Medicine. He also did additional rotations at St John Westshore Hospital / University Hospitals.  He completed an Internal Medicine Residency at The Chicago Medical School. He was chosen as a Chief Resident, an honor given to the best resident selected by his peers and faculty. After completing a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at University of S. Alabama, he then finished his Interventional Cardiology at the Georgetown University/ Washington Hospital Center Program where he trained in Coronary and Peripheral Interventions under the mentorship of Ron Waksman, Kenny Kent, Lowell Satler, Williams Suddath, Gus Pichard, and Nelson Bernardo. He has published extensive research in numerous peer review journals and presented oral presentations at the American College of Cardiology. He is also a member of numerous educational committees and organizations. He has privileges at most regional hospitals in the area.
